Sleeping Walking

It is usually said that in dreams everything can be possible; the power of imagination is so mighty that the well-known ''dream came true''sentence is widely used. In deed, not only the dreams come from our creative thoughts but from the deepest subconscious
mind as Freud claimed. Consequently, some weird or confusing scene may happen in the dream, which we cannot explain just from the visualization we have but from the underlying feeling we might not notice at all. Take myself as an example, during my high pressured time when the college entrance exam was near the corner, horrible nightmares such as being chased along a road by many a living death often ruin my sweet bed time. Moreover, sometimes dreams will directly present in the real world, that is, sleeping walking.
Sleepwalking cases generally consist of simple, repeated behaviors, and there are occasionally reports of people performing complex acts while asleep. My younger brother is one of the "sleepwalkers." Through the period we shared a room sleeping in a steel bunk bed, it was common that I went to bed after my brother because I had to study late. Accordingly, it was quite frequent for me to hear a lot of strange incomprehensible word coming out of his dream. At first, I would be frighten if his burst out murmur from nowhere in a loud noise at a silent midnight but time after time he talked to Morpheus I got used to it. However, one day my brother sit up on his bed and called my name. At my desk studying as I noticed his call so I turned around and looked up to the upper deck of the bunk bed. I thought he was awake due to his opened eyes.
"... Why did you @%^!*& ...?" he said a scattered sentence that I can barely understand what he meant.
"Are you aw...?" I was confused so I asked him if he was awake or not, but he didn't even let me finish my question and fell asleep again.
"What the..." with a huge question mark on my head I continued to burn my midnight oil.
This experience was not the oddest one.
Another day when I just closed the light and lay on my bed, he "waked up" with many creak noise and climbed down the steel stairs. The most creepy of all is that he began to turn on lights from our bedroom to the living room. So bright all the places were that my sleepy eyes almost got blinded and then he returned to our room standing by his desk straightly. I could tell that he was sleeping walking through his not fully opened eyes so I hurried him to get back to sleep. Surprisingly, he did exactly what I ordered. Although I was reluctant to leave my cozy bed, I still moved my tired feet to turned those lights accidentally opened.
I remember one time he climbed down along with his quilt which was held tightly on two of the corner in his hands. He just stood by his desk and nothing else happened.
"Seriously? Here it is again!"I mumbled to myself.
Then I guided him to get back to sleep, and meanwhile I tried to come up with a reasonable explanation to his abnormal act but in vain.
Sometimes if I open my eyes in the midnight, I will see his eyes staring at me. No lights opened in our bed time so all I could see is a pair of shinny but scary eyes. Every time was I terrified to nearly cause a heart attack.
With no doubt that he couldn't remember anything at all when I blamed him in the morning. Only sentences like "really?","that's cool!","I don't know." I would receive.
It sometimes a kind of fun but on the other hand, I don't know what strange or crazy things would happen to freak me out eventually.

There is a series of interesting
games about sleeping walking.

the sleepwalker to get home safely
just like what I've done to help my
brother to get back to sleep. lol

Green Card 1991

Green Card
From the beginning of the story, both of the main characters got their purposes to put the marriage on a show; the man, George, wanted more opportunity of work in the U.S. In order to apply for permanent residence, of course, he had to get the “green card.” On the other hand, the woman, Bronte, was longing for an apartment in which she could have her dreaming green house in Manhattan. The problem is that they initially didn’t realize how big the troubles they had trapped themselves in. Not only did they have to keep their fake relationship working in front of the officials of the immigration but they also have to start to face with the differences between them.
Moreover, the gap of different culture, life pattern, personality, and point of view caused many a conflict. Just like a common newly married couple, problems which hadn’t been noticed came to the surface after moving into together. In this film we can see evident contrast between man and woman. The former one is rational and the other one is more perceptual. It’s sure that differences became the obstacles in the relationship, but I think that is one of the trials towards love. If one love someone, virtue and beauty would definitely be loved while weak point and bad habits also must be embrace.
In some case, even the shortcoming can be turn into a good on after influencing on each other like George and Bronte did in the film. With the romantic and happy times they had gone through, gradually they fell in love with each other. George saw the beauty Bronte had both on her outside appearance and her inside characteristic; meanwhile, Bronte found out that George was funny and reliable. However, it’s not the ending of the story. Although they realize each other’s affection before George leave, there would be plenty of problems if they truly married and that’s the biggest point in the film that marriage is not as easy as we think it is.

Argument Ver.1- Classic or Casual

Classic or Casual
When times pushes the evolution of human thoughts, we can have our mind variable and acceptable to embrace cultural differences. It’s natural that former frame of regulations cannot limit human’s infinite possibilities. Nowadays, some rules set before were gradually broken down for they are not anymore suitable in the society currently. For instance, the abolishing of curfew in college dormitory, the legalization of same-sex marriage nationwide in the U.S. and the going or staying of death penalty issue are some of the popular topics. New ideas are pumping out around the world. In Taiwan, a controversial question about wearing uniform is catching public’s attention recently.

I do have a deep impression of this issue and keep wondering about it, because throughout my school life before college the question against uniform never occurred in my mind. From elementary school to senior high school, most of students in Taiwan public schools  have to wear uniform from Monday to Friday. The idea of wearing uniform in school is to put each of students under control. Similar to a tiny military camp, no one in school can be unique; you have to be the same like others as the uniform does. Do what the schedule ask you to, follow what the teachers said you should, study hard and care nothing else, which would make you to be a well-behaved student. No exceptional can be allowed for that sometimes differences cause disputation and it do no good to academic performance in the eyes of some educators or parents . Therefore, several rules may be set up to punish student who doesn’t obey to the dress code. In the past, if you do something wrong against the rules, it’s no doubt that one should be disciplined. Nonetheless, now it comes to the argument that is it really considered a  disorder needed to be punished.
Some think uniform at school is unnecessary at all, which is to say, students have their free will to wear what they want to as long as it was not against law. While some regard uniform as a simpler way that students don’t have to worry about their dressing every day. Needless thinking may cost extra time anyway. For me, I tend to be the side of the latter one. Yet I’m not saying that incomplete dressing should be punished; instead, school could consider opening a day or two to let students to take a breath out of rules and show their own style. Flexible policy of uniform may not only ease some tense under pressure to continue the order, but also present the diversities and energy of the youth. Wednesday is my senior high’s casual day. Everyone including myself enjoy a day out of uniform while some lazy ones still pick uniform out of closet. I appreciate how my school runs the rules and I hope it can be a great tradition to pass along generations.
After entering into university, we are no longer regulated by uniform rules. It comes out, unexpectedly, making me somehow miss my uniform. I started to appreciate the convenience uniform used to give me when I’m wondering in front of my closet every morning. Uniform gives us identity. We usually can recognize which school of the uniform due to the uniqueness of it; that is, we should be proud of the school badge on it. If I see our school uniform shorts in university, it’ll make me miss my hometown and I also get a chance to make new friends from the same senior high background. Such an ecstasy it is that strangers are connected with uniform!
What is your opinion toward abolishing uniform at school? Is it for or against?
No matter which side you choose, you should keep you uniform well if you have ones. They must contain a lot of colorful stories in school days; treasure it or you may regret it.

Comparison & Constrast Ver.2- Dorm Staying or House Sharing

Dorm Staying or House Sharing

“… Mom, I told you I can handle it. Let me make the decision.”
Through the other side of the cellphone, Mom stayed silent for a while. So long that I thought she may pass out for flying into a rage.
“You think about it.” said Mom, “list some pros and cons and then we’ll discuss again.”
    She hung up the phone.

It was around the corner of the final exams in second semester of my freshman college life. That is to say, under the pressure of grades I had another problem to be worried, which is the accommodation choice next year. In our university, dormitory building is basically for the freshman, so heading into sophomore I had to find another place to live in before summer vacation. Consequently, here came the argument with parents. Either sharing a rental house with friends or working in school dorm for the exchange of room living opportunity was my option then. Although I was struggling but my parents tend to had me choose the latter one. Frustrated as I was, I still wanted to persuade them to allow me live outside of school. Hence, I did the pros and cons list like my mom said.
If I continue to live in school dormitory, first of all, it’s a lot cheaper than renting room outside. Besides, daily devices needed, including washing machine, clean bathroom, kitchen, refrigerator, dehumidifier, free internet service, air conditioner and so on are well-equipped in school dorm. It’s hard to find other good living circumstances outside there. Even the charging of usage of water and electricity is much more affordable. Moving on, working in the dorm not only can earn me some extra paid, but also can grow my life experience. Holding more experiences of collaborating in work and getting more chances to know new friends are imperative key to a better future. Only the problem that I have to spend time on working part-time and it’s somehow exhausted while I still have academic and club works to deal with at the same time.
On the other hand, to rent a room in Taipei city is indeed pricey in anyway. It may be a huge burden of my family. Meanwhile, the commute cost to school five days a week would be an additional fee as well and the loss of time commuting is heartbreaking considerable. However, it is not all about the cons. I can have my private space and no longer need to be bothered by noise, dirtiness and other arguments with roommates could happen. Moreover, I can be more independent with the gaining experience of learning how to save household cost and how to manage every daily details and chores in life. Last, public transportation with the highly accessible MRT and bus system make it easier to reach shopping district outside of school.
Unexpectedly, after clearing my mind to those two alternatives, I made up my decision to live in the dorm. Chances and risks would not come alone, and there is always give and take yet I chose what I love and I’ll love what I chose. It would be new challenges no matter which living place I pick. The vital thing to do is to manage my time and set up my own schedule. I still have a lot to learn and the future road is long.

Cause and Effect Ver.1- Listen and Obey

Listen and obey
With a tooth brush in mouth, Jack wore a sleepy face to collect his clothes hung on the balcony. “Geee…geeeee…” the sharp sound of the old curtain and the morning freezing breeze almost pierced his skin. Trembling, Jack quickly grabbed down a T-shirt and a pair of pants randomly, but found out that they are not quiet dry enough. Well, he had no choice because there were no clean clothes available.
Jack originally planned to study for midterm next week at home. However, his cellphone rang. It’s a call from one of his friends.
“Hey, 10:00 at Green Valley Mall, I had booked tickets for a movie. Okay?” His friend sounded like he had already known Jack would come.
“But…” Jack couldn’t turn down at once.
“Yes or no? Marry will be with us.” Jack’s friend giggled from the other side of phone.
“But the midterm is around the corner.” A devil and an angel started a tug of war immediately.
“Aren’t you having great scores at school? A day off won’t be a big deal. Besides, you lived outside alone so there would be no one supervises you, right?” Still struggling, yet his friend nearly persuaded him.
“Ummm…,let me think about it.” Jack couldn’t decide; therefore, he was stalling.
After a big sigh from the other side, his friend seemed to be impatient. ”Stop hesitating. Mary will be there and so will you.”

Jack said yes at last.

Or, in other words, he obeyed unconsciously, again.

Those personalities to listen and obey were formed since he was little. Like most of the children, he chose to be well-behaved and be praised rather than being punished. Moreover, Jack is the last kid in the family. For a long time he had played the role to be neglected, be retorted or even be blamed when he talks. Gradually, he learned to listen and obey and talk less for a more “peaceful” life.
After Jack began his school life, the means he listen and obey became various. It was started out of nowhere that his classmates would ask him to run errands, take the shifts, buy some treats and so on. As time passes, everyone takes the favor of him for granted. Although it truly bothered Jack, he was suffering from a hard time to say no to any please. Accordingly, the situation continues until now.

At he was about to leave his room, his cellphone vibrated again. It was a text from his mom. “Are you still in the bed?” His mom asked.
Jack’s mother will send messages to him for she doesn’t want him to get up late on every weekend even if he lived alone.
“I’m ready to have my breakfast outside now.” Jack replied.
Within seconds, the cellphone vibrated again.
“Got it. Your schedule today?”
Jack thought twice and he keyed in “study at home or at library.”
This time, his mom replied a little bit late. “Got it.”

Before leaving, he checked his wallet to make sure he had enough money and put the cellphone and wallet separately into two side pockets. He also thought about taking a text book along, but he probably wouldn’t want to study if he went out so he gave up the idea. “Click!” He locked the heavy front door
To listen and obey for a long time makes Jack a timid person who doesn’t have his own judgments and be indecisive for everything. In short, it would all result in the sentence “Is it okay?”
The first time Jack went to a movie is in elementary school with his family. Harry Potter was a hit then, his sister asked to see the movie because that most of her classmates had seen it and she couldn’t chat with this new topic she didn’t understand. Thousands of times she begged that their father finally agreed.
It was a Sunday, and the whole family came to the theater. Along with them some food was brought as their lunch. Jack wasn’t sure at fist. He wondered if it’s okay to bring food into the theater. Nevertheless, he still covered the question in mind. After all, father won’t take my opinion into consideration, he assumed. Things Jack worried about eventually happened before the entrance. The staff who was responsible for checking the tickets stop them and told them no outside food or drink allowed. His father couldn’t accept the rule and even began to argue with the staff at his fury. At the spot little Jack was so afraid that he hid behind his mom, covering both of his ears up from those unbearable confrontations.

Back to present times, on the MRT, stood Jack, staring at the scrolling text marquee showing the stations name one after one. The orange words changed from Chinese to English. He was completely absent-minded until a voice of a woman caught his attention.
“Sit properly!” The woman frowned at her son and quietly snapped.
That little boy didn’t even give a glance to his angry mom, continuing jumping up and down on the seat with his cute voice humming cartoon songs. The woman realized blaming was in vain; thus, she grabbed the boy and held him in arms. The boy looked like uncomfortable and wriggled restlessly. He screamed to fight his freedom back. That scream not only scared his mom but also draw the attention of everyone around. From people focusing on their cellphone screen to those were taking nap. Dozens of eyes suddenly looked over the woman. She blushed in embarrassment and loosed her hands, which gave the boy a chance to escape. He merely stumbled on the floor while he tried to maintain straight by holding a steel handrail. He then made funny faces to his mom. Jack accidently made an eye contact with the woman not knowing what to do and he turned his head right away.
Of course Jack had longed to change himself, but there were no instructions for him to follow. Whenever he encounters troubles, the frequent way he has been using would be applied to solve it automatically. Jack almost reached his goal once. In fact, he thought he succeeded. It was one of an exam in grade eight. Ten minutes to the end of the exam and he was still solving the tough questions he had left behind earlier. Suddenly, he felt the chair was slightly kicking by his classmate behind. “Jack, number nine.” A whisper to the ear was also a trade with devils.
Jack didn’t reply it instantly. He hesitated.
Within seconds,
“Psst, psst! Jack, number nine!” That annoying foot kept kicking his chair.
Moreover, that evil sound was bouncing back and forth in his mind. He raised his head and carefully checked where the teacher was. That vulture eyes were looking upon the whole classroom trying to find out someone who was not focus on the test. The sharp sight threw right around Jack’s side and pinned Jack on his seat. He lowered his head right away with heart bumping harder and harder. Then the sound of steps interrupted into his heartbeat, closer and closer. Jack gasped for breath trying to pretend like usual. Luckily, the teacher was drawn to another sleeping student with a thunder-liked snoring sound. Yet he just freezed himself for minutes and the disturbing sound never appeared again.
From the deepest of heart aroused a sense of ecstasy that never ever happened before. He thought that he finally did it! He finally rejected someone’s unreasonable request! Couldn’t he help but smile; nevertheless, he incidentally caught a glimpse of the teacher who was about to wake the sleepyhead up. At that moment, Jack realized he didn’t succeed at all. He still listened and obeyed.
“Don’t cheat!” The eyes of the teacher told him.
The feeling of delight soon replaced with upset and powerless. He found out that he had no choice in the beginning.

Jack stared at the answer blank space he left behind, and the bell rang.

Analysis Ver.2- How to make a tiramisu

How to make a tiramisu
As a crazy sweet-teethed person, all kinds of desserts would not only please my starving tongue but also sweeten my sour mood. Tiramisu is one of the most indulgent Italian desserts ever created that would make my mouth water. It is even simple to make, you just need a little time. To impress yourself here is a quick and easy way to make one and it doesn't need an oven at all.
First of all, to prepare the main flavor we should combine 120 milliliters of brewed espresso, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract and a tablespoon of sugar in a wide, small bowl. Moreover, Marsala wine, dark rum, or brandy would be a fascinating choice to add the surprising touch to it. About 60 milliliters of Marsala can bring a slightly wine fragrant and also lift the creaminess of the filling. Of course, for a non-alcoholic version, leave the Marsala out of the recipe would still make it delicious.
Secondly, to make the filling we should crack 3 eggs and divided egg whites and yolks into two different bowls. Stir the egg yolks with a whisk while gradually add 3 tablespoons of sugar and 2 tablespoons of Marsala until the egg yolks become thick, creamy, and light yellow and then beat in 225 grams of Mascarpone cheese with a quick mixed to have them just combined. On the other hand, after whipping the egg whites until they hold firm and stiff peaks, gently fold in half of the whipped cream into the yolk-mascarpone mixture. Finally, gradually add the remaining half to the creamy egg yolk until there are no lumps and a fluffy filling should be well-prepared.
Eventually, we move on to assemble tiramisu. For starter, set a 9-inch (23 cm) square dish which is lined with lady fingers in the bottom. Then pour over two thirds of the coffee mixture. Next, spoon half of the mascarpone filling over the lady fingers and at the same time spread it into an even layer. Steps by steps we arrange the same layer of lady fingers as it is on the first layer when the last level we spoon those remaining mascarpone mixture over. Last but not least, dust some powdered cocoa or grated bittersweet chocolates on the top and leave it in the refrigerator for hours.
So the easy but tasty “pick me up” dessert is ready to serve. Isn’t it simple enough for anyone to give it a try at home? To be honest, it would be no surprise if you fall in love with tiramisu after you taste the special version just made on your own.

Kinds of Movies Version2

Kinds of Movies
I’ m a big fan of movies. Different kinds of movies will bring me various experiences not only on sensuous delights but on spiritual growth. Though stories could have assorted interpretation from each director, I can broaden my horizons, which I couldn’t learned by my own so far.
In action movies, actors may have an excited adventure to achieve a heroic mission or to save a particular person who was kidnapped by evil villain or dangerous car chasing was taking place through roads in a prosperous commercial city. Exquisite fighting scene will make my blood boil while some sudden occurrence which is almost a sickle of a Death will make my breath stop. Although my heart seems to pump out of my mouth every moment during the film, the sense of achievement after reaching the goal expressing from the other side of the screen will finally turn those peril movement worthy.
On the other hand, in comedies, the movies usually performed in a humorous way to successfully tease the audience; however, meanwhile they’re also telling tiny yet imperative principles in life. Sometimes instead of delivering a serious speech, an intriguing interaction behind the screen somehow the same as people in the world universally happen could strike one’s chord easier. Lounging on a sleeping sofa in the casual afternoon of a Sunday with a cup of hot milk and a slice of cake would matches perfect to a comedy. So, sit back and relax, perhaps a ridiculous fight between two best friends can tell us the important essence of true relationship.
Moreover, in a horror one, it may have set a mysterious background or leaving an unsolved riddle to hide a trap for viewers to step inside unconsciously. As the plot keeps going, our bumping hearts would like sea waves, clam and smoothly swaying like a cradle if the quiet before the storm eases the tense sense, while turbulent and heaving up and down with spindrift spraying everywhere if gruesome events comes across in a sudden. Some may almost be scared to death, others may screamed in a high pitch to eventually break some glasses, still others may cover their eyes with hands but continue to watch through the gap of fingers. The rising amount of adrenaline in our body gives us excitement and thrill which most of the horror addicted cannot resist.
How about entering a magic world where elves, dwarfs, giants, witches, mermaids, centaurs, dragons, and all kinds of fierce monsters which all only becomes alive in our imaginary dreams, exists! Otherwise, a first experience of heading toward a future in where extremely advanced technology was widely applied in daily life. Maybe cars could float in the air and people can reach anywhere they want through a door. Cyborgs and artificial intelligence robots may be seen commonly on the street, which should be a convenient invent but at the same time gives a metal, cold, fake,  indifferent feeling between human beings. Consequently, some science fiction movies would finally focus on the environmental or human nature issues after the viewers are mesmerized in the dreamy world yet forgot those genuine beauty in life.
An ideal spouse who meets entirely we expect is many people’s a lifetime dream and romance movies realize it. From the beginning of the story, the main characters may not know each other but meet in a special destined time, or they were long acquainted but they didn’t know they had already fallen in love with each other, or two intimate lovers who were forced to separate far, far away. All the differences and possibilities turn the movie into a fascinating imagine for anyone to long for. We would easily get enveloped inside the pink atmosphere and even fell in love with the character. When it comes to dealing with the relationship with others in reality, the romance movies could provide us a dreamy imagination to pursuit.
There are still many kinds of movies and some of which are mixed in categories. When an evil wizard fell in love with a princess, it should open a new leaf to a unique adventure. No matter which kinds of movies you are fond of, enjoy it in your own way and appreciate it in the aspect you can learn new knowledge.

Writing Class Brainstorming Final- First Draft

The Best View in My Life So Far

It was a sunny afternoon during my childhood in my third grade at the elementary school. When I mean "sunny", I definitely not described for an agreeable weather.  Shiny sun beam was a torture to eyes and the temperature was almost a pot of boiling water. No summer cool breeze on that day to ease the hotness or weep the stinky sweat. After a small run with several of my friends playing hide and seek, I had already looked like as if I just got out of a pool. But I think as a child I was restless and was always full of energy to play as more games as possible. At a new turn of game started, I ran on my full speed to find a perfect hiding spot. Along the country side mud road nearby my grandparents' I passed by a small pound with frogs having decent chorus singing and an enormous big old tree stretching it's branches to the azure sky, covering third-one of it.
A temporary stay in the paradise of shadow plunked up my spirit to fight against the aggressive heat. I kept running without certain destination. Time flowed away swiftly but unconsciously like a small stream along the road ditch. Not until I bumped into a big tree did I realize that I had no idea where on earth I was. The "plant" I thought it was, moved! I was lifted up about 10 feet high and a face with freckles and wrinkles came into my sight. It was a old farmer. Muddy stain dotted his bamboo hat, towel around his neck, sleeveless shirt and his brown shorts with patches.
He seemed so angry that from his apple-red face and popping eyes I saw a "Furious." However, the anger turned into some kind of sorrow instead of erupting. "Just look at what you've done! Such a mess!" after his slightly hoarse voice, he turned me around. Tens of thousands of tiny sun suddenly filled my eyes. Dazzling enough to blind me. It would be a flawless scene if there wasn't a terrible, scary scar cutting through with a rough knife. "Oh, my poor baby." He knelt down and pick up one of the sunflowers which were broken into pieces and scattered on the ground. Soon that I realized that I was the murderer who was caught red-handed.
